Sweat ran down the innocent face of Melanie Forbes. The dream was back, and the worst part was that she didn't understand what it meant. It had been with her since she was little, but no one had been able to figure out what it meant. She was in the hospital in the dream, alone, and wrapped in her blanket. The strange part was that she was looking at herself lying in the bed. She can hear the beeps of the heart monitor, but soon it is just one sustained noise. She herself had just died. No nurses entered the room, only a young boy who turns off the monitor. He leans up and kisses her on the cheek. Then he whispers in her ear. “She tried to tell you no one would ever love you.” And then he leaves. There had been doctors, counselors, yet no one could figure it out. Mel separated herself from her soaked sheets and set off for the shower.
While she was showering Mel decided that a nice day at the beach near the cool water and warm sand would get her mind off of that terrible dream. She got out of the shower and started playing her music as loud as she could. She danced around to “Like a G6” while she looked through her bathing suits. She decided on a gray one that was her favorite and she slipped it on. She put her hair up in a messy bun and tied a bow in it. She stepped into her closet and grabbed a pair of shorts and a tank top to slip on over her suit before grabbing a beach towel from the stack in her bathroom. Looking around her room she spotted her keys and phone and grabbed them both. Melanie turned off all the lights and left the house and climbed in her car and headed toward the beach.
Mel parked her car in the large parking area and found herself a spot that was further away from the crowd of people that liked to be near the food and things of that sort. She had no intention of bring tripped over or hit with a ball. She placed her towel on the sand and stripped herself of the tank and shorts that she had on. A wave of realization hit Mel when she thought about tanning oil. She had forgotten it on the dresser. She shrugged and laid down on her stomach letting the warm rays of the sun shower her back.

The day was long and all that he was going to do was relax. Then he got the message from Mels to meet her down town. How the hell could he turn that down? The beach was his favorite place to be and Mels was his favorite girl. How could he turn that down? A double whammy. So the moment he got home from his final and then finished a few hours down at the board shop he put on his board swimshorts, his sandals, and headed down the beach. There was no need for shirt down here on the sand so he didn't bother with one. There he looked for that girl of his.
"Mels.." He chuckled as he watched her in the sand. "What are you doing here princess?" Even though he knew that they were planning on meeting up right here.

Melanie was almost asleep, though she was glad when she heard a deep voice call her name. She would have surely burned if it wasn’t for that sexy voice that she knew so well. She rolled over on her side and she was greeted by the lovely face of her favorite guy in the whole wide world. Frederick James Price was by far the most amazing boy she had ever met, and there was no doubt that Melanie thought he was the hottest thing in the oven. He meant a lot to her, and she was there for him whenever he needed her to be. He was there for her as well, all the time.
Melanie smiled at him. “Helloooo there Freddy-kins.” She said flashing a cute smile at him. The boy was more than attractive. If she didn’t have composure she would have slept with him a long time before, but she had plenty of experience messing up friendships by trying to get more than a guy was giving. They didn’t want relationships, and she did. Melanie had lost a lot of friends that way, and while she hoped that Freddy wouldn’t be the same as those guys, she couldn’t be exactly sure that he wouldn’t be. Of course she would have to throw herself out the and find out, but she would wait until the right time.
“Well, I’ve been waiting on you goofy.” She said standing up so that she could tackle him in a hug. She kissed his cheek and smirked. “Hey Freddy.” She said with a small smirk. She picked up a little sand and put it in his hair. “Your hair is looking a little sandy.” She teased laughing a little. She loved being able to be a goof with Freddy. It made things easier.

Freddy knew that he was good looking. It was something that he was told on a daily basis but that didn’t matter because while everyone said that he was good looking, no one really backed it up fully. What was the point in hearing that if no one was going to back up what they said? There was no point in it. It made everything else bullshit. Now, he had his fair share of women that was for sure but he was never one to really settle down. The first time, outside of high school, that it had happened was a big mistake. So he was trying to wait out the right one while having fun with all the wrong ones.
Still here he was with Mel. He couldn’t help himself. This was his best friend and things weren’t ever as simple as they seemed. This couldn’t be more true with her. There was a grin as he looked at her just thinking about it.
He laughed at the sand in the hair but before she could do anything else he grabbed her by the back of the neck and brought her lips to his. Roughly, he kissed her. No warning. Just full on lips and slowly rubbing his tongue against her lips. Then he broke it and looked at her. “You cheat.” He said pointing to the sand like he had never kissed her.
Even if all he wanted was to do it again.

Melanie couldn't help but have pretty strong feelings for Freddy. There was no denying that if he ever asked her out she would say yes without even thinking twice. She had been told before by multiple guys that she was everything that they wanted in a girl. None of them ever backed it up by treating her right though. Sometimes they thought that she would sleep with them just because they fed her a good line, but that wasn't in Mel's nature. She did sleep with people, but every person she slept with she saw something in.
She laid there with Freddy just basking in the moment. She would lay with him forever and not worry about anything. He made her feel special and she loved everything about it. He grinned and she looked a little confused. She figured he was planning something, but she didn't know what.
Freddy laughed but before Mel could say or do anything her lips were crashing against Freddy's. Their kiss was rough and a little sloppy, but it brought more warmth from Melanie's body than she was used to. His tongue was rubbing against her lips but before she could open her mouth and let her in he broke the kiss. Mel smiled at him and dusted the sand out of his hair. "All better." she said smirking at him.
Melanie looked away before pressing her lips against his roughly.
